NEXUS3
A seven-day robotics & automation programme
The IEEE Robotics & Automation Society of IIT
Established in 2023, the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society of IIT is a dedicated community fostering science, technology, learning, and education for undergraduates. The society provides valuable hands-on experience through workshops and webinars, allowing participants to showcase their skills.
Exciting competitions are organised to highlight the talents of members, creating a dynamic platform for enthusiasts to engage and thrive in the field of robotics and automation. We are part of the IEEE RAS global network of over 15,000 members worldwide.
Our Vision
Encourage the enthusiastic innovators who will shape the future through their creative ideas and technological skills in the field of robotics and automation.
Our Mission
Guiding innovators with a roadmap to turn their ideas and visions into reality through mentorship, hands-on experience, and collaborative learning. We empower delegates to embark on a journey of creative and technological exploration in Robotics and Automation.
RobotNexus 3
RobotNexus 3 is the third edition of our seven-day robotics and automation programme, structured into two distinct phases that combine technical skill development with meaningful community impact.
Technical Workshop Series
A structured, hands-on robotics workshop series designed to equip undergraduate students with strong technical foundations in robot development — covering programming, control systems, sensor integration, and system-level thinking.
Programming Basics
- ▸Introduce programming fundamentals and basic syntax
- ▸Hands-on experience with coding and basic robot control
Obstacle Avoidance & PID Tuning
- ▸Introduce obstacle avoidance techniques
- ▸Explain PID control concepts and tuning methods
Line Following & Sensor Tuning
- ▸Implement line-following logic
- ▸Tune IR sensor arrays for accurate detection
Multiprocessing & Wireless Communication
- ▸Introduce multiprocessing concepts in robotics
- ▸Implement wireless communication for enhanced functionality
Community Empowerment Through Technology
Phase 2 extends the impact of the programme beyond the university through a community-focused outreach initiative conducted in collaboration with the Foundation of Goodness, delivering introductory robotics workshops aimed at inspiring children with limited educational resources.
